BENEFITS

BUILT FOR SPEED

Getting duct banks started faster – and finishing sooner – saves time and allows project teams to commence above-ground construction faster. Here’s how RED-E-DUCT revolutionizes the duct bank installation process, requiring less labor and time, reducing overall costs, and putting construction ahead of schedule.

Less Time In The Trench

Consider the differences between traditional cast in place duct bank to RED-E-DUCT

  • Availability of craft labor
  • Time required to place and assemble conduits
  • Form work
  • Redi-mix delivery
  • Quality of Concrete
  • Total time, from setting to backfilled

Cast-in-place

RED-E-DUCT

NO FORMS REQUIRED

When the job requires the use of a trench box, RED-E-DUCT installs quickly and easily with fewer workers and less time in the ditch. Excavate the trench, set the trench box, install RED-E-DUCT, backfill and repeat. Over one hundred and fifty feet of conduit in full concrete encasement installed in less than two minutes. Get in and out of critical work areas faster than ever before.

Minimal Concrete Work

In straight RED-E-DUCT runs, there is no need for concrete formwork, pouring, curing, or testing. Where a change to vertical direction is required, the use of RED-E-DUCT stub-ups reduces the complexity of concrete and steel formwork.

Immediate Backfill

No need to wait!
With RED-E-DUCT, traffic disruptions can be restored in record time. Workers can install and backfill RED-E-DUCT in critical locations in as little as eight hours.

Fewer Weather Delays

Cold, inclement weather conditions are not a problem when the RED-E-DUCT system is used.  There is no need to wait for warmer or drier conditions to ensure that concrete can be properly placed and cured. If work crews can safely operate in sub-freezing or wet weather, RED-E-DUCT is ready to go.

With RED-E-DUCT, significant rain events will not require tear out and re-installation of partially constructed duct banks.
Unlike traditionally installed cast in place duct banks there is no cause for concern if a rain event fills the open trench with runoff water.

RED-E-DUCT unaffected by flooded trench

Traditionally installed, cast in place conduits

Overcome Challenging Terrain

Conduit installation and concrete encasement in one simple step.  RED-E-DUCT installs quickly and with no requirement to place concrete in multiple lifts. Where difficult terrain complicates the work, RED-E-DUCT becomes a single step installation process that gets the job done ahead of schedule.

Power Transmission & Distribution

Duct Bank Installation

Installed in front of a bank entrance, RED-E-DUCT was used in
conjunction with cast-in-place duct bank to significantly reduce
construction time. Speed of installation reduced the impact to
local businesses.

Power Transmission & Distribution

Duct Bank Installation

RED-E-DUCT Precast Duct Bank was utilized to reduce overall site construction time. A crew of four was able to install 60 feet of linear duct bank per hour. Horizontal and vertical runs were installed, including precast Stub-Ups containing rigid galvanized conduits.

Industrial Facility

Duct Bank for Fiber and Power Cable

RED-E-DUCT Precast Electrical Duct Bank was used to carry fiber and power cables serving a water treatment plant, significantly reducing the time and cost of installation.

Oil, Gas & Chemical

Duct Bank Infrastructure Under Access Roads

RED-E-DUCT Precast Duct Banks were installed under and alongside site access roads in multiple locations. RED-E-DUCT became a perfect solution where site conditions required managing a high-water table and rapid installation, ensuring road closures and site disruptions were kept to a minimum.
